Hopi Ear Candling originated from the Native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona. Hopi means peaceful people, people of peace. A 22 cm ear candle, made with flax, beeswax, honey, Camomile, Sage and Hypericum is lit at one end and gently placed in the ear. This creates a slight under-pressure (the chimney effect) inside the ear candle and a vibration of the rising air column through the natural movement of the flame serves to gently massage the eardrum. Whilst the candle is burning the pleasant heat sensation is intensified which stimulates the peripheral blood circulation and strengthens the cleansing circulation of the lymph glands. It also stimulates energy points and reflex zones.
This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses. It is soothing and helpful for earache, removal of ear-wax, headaches, migraine, sinusitis, rhinitis, noises and ringing in the ears and is relaxing and calming for stress symptoms. It is also safe and beneficial for children.
